I've often spent long hours pondering these same things. As a species we are no longer evolving the way we used too. We now correct the things that are wrong with us, instead of letting the trend die out, as it did in past millenia.

The idea of robots becoming intelligent enough to recreate scares me... like in I, Robot. I'm reading a book now, Friday by Heinlein, where the protagonist is an "artificial person," basically a very humanistic robot, but she seems to actually have emotions and everything. However, I think we might destroy ourselves before technology gets that advanced.
