Try as I might, I just don't get British humor.
It's just not funny. Not even "it's so bad it's funny" funny. It just isn't.
Am I missing something? Am I not pretentious enough to pretend to enjoy something that is completely awful?
Although, I couldn't stop watching the show I was watching. It has a car wreck effect on me. I kept waiting for something funny to happen/be said, but it just kept disappointing me.
I know all you people out there are going to tell me I need to see this, I need to see that, but what's the point? It's just not funny.
The verdict, leave the British humor for the Brits. Keep that crap on your side of the pond chaps.

Fun.
I have spent the last three hours having more fun than I have had in the last 18 years.

Good times.
These are indeed good times. Even better than the TV show.
I get to go to Toronto next month.
I just got a raise at work.
The weather has been nice.
I've met some new friends.

Adventurous.
So the other night ended up seeing TV On the Radio.
It was a good show. I think they are a much better live band than a studio band. Crappy SPIN magazine named them album of the year for '06, but I'd personally give it a 7 out of 10. Granted it's ten times better than most of the crap that passes for music these days, but album of the year, no.
Anyway, they are a fantastic live band. It was one of the better shows I'd ever been to. I met up with a friend of mine there and really enjoyed the night (aside from the weak over-priced vodka tonics).
After the show I was walking back to my car and saw the drummer outside next to the tour bus. I thanked him for the show, and told him how much I enjoyed it. The next thing I know, I'm sitting in the Alley Cat with the band. It was pretty damn cool. They all seemed like real nice guys.
Fun night.
The next day sucked, as I felt like hell since I was so tired and slightly hungover.
I think I will start trying to go to more shows. It was a nice change of pace.

P.I.T.A.
I just found out today that I won't have to move. I squeeked out of that. I feel like celebrating tonight. Staying where I am, at least for the next year or so.
Awesomeness ensues.
I'm going to see TV on the Radio tomorrow night. Should be a fun show, but I'm a little nervous about it. I rarely do anything on my own here, so it's going to be a little out of my comfort level. That's one thing I need to learn to get over. Flying solo outside of grocery shopping. I'll let you all know how it goes.
Well now. I'm outtie like an umbilical cord.

meh. again.
It was five years ago yesterday that I moved to Indianapolis the first time. How things have changed since then.
Actually, not much has changed. I've just gotten older, a few more gray hairs, and worsening hangovers.
It sucks getting old. I'll have to change that.
On the plus side, I had some awesome gelato tonight. It was the best thing ever.
